yellow sun, blue sky, white clouds, green grass.
Choosing colors for this blanket was so easy.
We are outside from omgitissoearly thirty until I am dragging him inside for a bath.
He loves to ride his coupe car, chase bubbles, run, try to sneak over to Annie and Jerre's when he thinks I am not looking, pick flowers, see how close to the road he can get without actually touching it, walk Princess, climb the rocks, try to climb the trees (almost, but not quite!)
turn the water on 100 times, play in the sand.
He is all boy! Earthy, cool colors. It is who he is.
I worked this on a size 2.75 needle. I only did a chain one in each corner, so it is really a tightly hooked blanket. I love working on granny squares. It feels like they practically make themselves. I used Lucy's join-as-you-go method.
Should be nice and warm and snuggly for my favorite little man!
81 squares, 21 rows for the border.
The color combos here are so nice. I can see this being an appropriate blanket for many years to come -- cheerful without looking baby-ish. Your crochet work is really lovely. I want to learn to crochet this year, even if it's just granny squares.
ReplyDeleteI found a lot of really helpful how to videos on You Tube. I think if you can knit, crochet seems to be a lot easier and faster. I promise, granny squares are the best!!
